It's always hard writing in new fandoms, but the best thing I've discovered about writing Inception fic is that this is possibly the closest I've come to writing what feels like original fic in a long time. And by that I mean writing in something that's completely my style, not someone else's. IDK, I guess the majority of my bandom stuff is ~my style, but there's a looser quality to those stories; the dragonrider AU is fairly close, though. It's hard to explain, but I think the open-ended canon of Inception makes writing the characters a more creative experience.

I've been trying to watch that TV movie where Benedict Cumberbatch plays a writer doing a book about a homeless drug addict played by Tom Hardy, but dear GOD, so many motts. It's a testament to how fantastic an actor Tom Hardy is, though, if he's so realistic I can barely watch.
