(no subject)

I am home for the night, only tomorrow morning I will be getting on the road again, headed to my dad's place in my hometown. As much as I don't like the idea of being in my hometown again, I'm excited to be with my aunt and uncle and see my dad before he loses all his hair in a few weeks. We have reservations at this little German restaurant that I haven't been to since my high school graduation, and then there will probably be wine consumed and cards played, and me trying my best to be a good daughter.

On a happier note, I came home to a gazillion Christmas cards! Thank you to jocondite, jezzabe, um_nosrsly, and summertea (LOL JON'S LITTLE SAD FACE ♥)! It's a little sad that I open my fandom cards before my RL friends' cards, heh. Screw the cheesy 'here is us and our baby!' photo cards, GIVE ME SHINY BOY WISHES!

I want to write up this long, rambly thing about characterization in fic (i.e. why Jon is more than frat boy!Jon or sunshine!Jon), and maybe why fullsizepatd makes me want to STAB MY EYES OUT (second verse same as the first, y/y? UGH), but that will have to wait. Oh, and to zarah5v2 and emilyray--I bought some Tamora Pierce books! I'm stoked to recast them with band boys! \o/

Mostly, I am dying to write my dragon!knight AU, hence the sudden consumption of fantasy novels.
