Man, every guy I talk to about Oz says the same things, though. I don't think they can see past it. You know that Seinfeld thing? I had a friend who was convinced that that was the epitome of what Oz was all about & he swore he loved the show :( Wtf right?

Dudes like that are the reason they kept O'Reily straight. For real. Like luci_2 said below, I think a lot of what Toby goes through hits a little too close to home on a subconscious level for a lot of guys, and they simply can't take the fact that Keller and Beecher could *actually* be in love, especially after what Beecher goes through in season one.

Your co-worker needs to have his eyes checked. And his brain.

Many guys understood better the ass-raping in S.1. Then got scared
to see that Toby, the man who had walked into OZ a straight guy they could identify with, changed his sexuality in S. 2 and 3.
They blamed Keller for that and hated him for it.
In their subconscious, they were terrified that something like that could happen to them, if they were in Toby's situation in jail.
I read this point in an essay about OZ.

Very good point. Most guys I know who have seen Oz, including my husband, tend to completely write Keller off as a psychopathic serial killer who brainwashed Toby, that did what he had to do to survive, but Keller's the bad guy, blah blah blah.

I gave this a bit of thought, and have decided, with all my thinking skillz, that Oz really was the place Teh Meloni shined. Look at it this way: he got to be sexy, evil, conniving, manipulative, cunning, humorous, violent...I mean, what more could you ask for in a character? And that man carried that shit off like nobody's business. He made Keller someone we could love, and this was s sociopathic serial killer (well, signature killer, IMO, but I'll generalize) who on the surface had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. But Meloni took what could have been a completely immoral bastard and just tweaked the hell outta him, giving him personality. Shit, he should be so lucky to get to play Elliot like that.

Tell your co-worker to put that in his pipe and smoke it.

How about this one..this happened a few years ago..the IT guy was sitting at my computer and was saying (out loud) he couldn't believe how many cookies were on my machine..a co-worker goes by at the same time and says.."I bet half of them are from "Oz" sites.
