(no subject)

Nothing says Happy New Year like waking up to a billion drunk text messages from your friends. :D

Sadly, the highlight of my New Year's Eve was buying a new iPod Touch after much drama at Best Buy (long story). I went to bed at 10:00 because I am OLD and apparently fail at crazy times. But then a bunch of my RL friends were out at the casinos, and one of them texted me with "won $2, was totally worth the trip!" After that, I didn't feel so bad.

So new iPod, yay! It is quite sexy and has the interwebs! I spent all today moving all my shit from my old Nano onto it, and now is when you all recommend good music to me, since it's only half full now! I am ridiculously pleased that I bought Much Ado About Nothing with my iTunes gift card. JFC, I love that movie so much, I'm not even kidding. Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson are so amazing in it, and Keanu Reeves just makes me loooooool forever and ever. HE IS DENZEL WASHINGTON'S BASTARD BROTHER! BILLY SHAKESPEARE IS PROBS STILL LOLING IN HIS GRAVE.

I'm mad Merlin isn't up on iTunes, though, dammit.

I was also rewatching the GTA and DOA videos, and I'm seriously waiting for the day when I can watch the DOA video and not look like this ---> **___** PRECIOUS BABY BOYS. I'll be, like, 40, and still doing flappy hands at baby!Patrick and his failboat band. I vow to write more Pete/Patrick in 2009.

I was SO tempted to buy an iPod Touch on my trip, but I didn't because I'm trying to be an adult. One day, IT WILL BE MINE.

(Hi)

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Basically I got this instead of a car stereo. Long story.

(Hiiii I'm glad you're having more fun!)

[identity profile] wordsalone.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
iPod's rule though, so I think you lucked out.

(Me too! This was one of the best days I've had here, which is stupid because it was my last.)

[identity profile] alwayseven.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
What did you name your iPod?

I LOVE Much Ado About Nothing. It's the most hilarious cast ever and it is AWESOME.

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
I went with Patrick Smith Walker II, since my Nano before it was Patrick Smith Walker I. :)

YES, and I didn't even mention the awesomeness that is Michael Keaton.

[identity profile] alwayseven.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
MOST EXCELLENT CHOICE :D

Hah, Michael Keaton, YES.

[identity profile] holycloud.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
MAAAANNNNN! When I was 12, my most favorite movie was Much Ado About Nothing! I was simply in love with Benedick. And Robert Sean Leonard, but not that Claudio. Benedick wins the movie. Shakespeare, my first love. Yet, the bastar brothers are always the bad ones, it makes me feel sad. In The King Lear it happens the same, but the bastard brother was actually a bastard.
The good thing is that today I can watch Robert Sean Leonard at House and slash House/Wilson.

Drunk messajes! LOL! I didn't send any cause I had no credit and usually on when the 12 o'clock arrives, all lines collapse.

Me want Pete/Patrick!

[identity profile] saramir.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
*flails over Patrick, too* Please please please write more Pete/Patrick in 2009. Best resolution I've heard all day. \o/

Umm, as for music recs, the first thing that comes to mind is Josh Ritter 'cos I'm listening to him right now and he is fabulous. Acoustic storytelling stuffs, sometimes catchy, sometimes positively beautiful -- if you don't already know him, definitely give him a try. :)

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
My goal is to write a Pete/Patrick X-Files AU this year. Because there NEEDS to be Scully!Patrick existing in this world, dammit.

[identity profile] saramir.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. My. God. *bounces in seat a little* You MUST write that! Seriously, I think I might have to nag you about it weekly until you do. IT WOULD BE SO AMAZING. Mulder/Scully is one of my favouritest epic UST pairings everrr and you would write such a fantastic Pete/Patrick AU based off that! Have you started getting any concrete ideas for it yet? ♥_______♥

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
IKR? I have been mulling around this idea for months now. X-Files was my original fandom, and Mulder/Scully was my first true OTP. I don't have any solid ideas yet, except something happens to Scully!Patrick, LIKE IT TENDS TO DO.

[identity profile] saramir.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
*flails* X-Files wasn't my original fandom exactly, but I think it was the first show I was really obsessed with as a kid and Mulder/Scully was totally my first OTP way before I'd ever heard of the term, haha. Of COURSE something needs to happen to Scully!Patrick. *pats him/her* Would Pete have alien-abducted-sister issues, too? WHO WOULD BE CIGARETTE SMOKING MAN?

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
DUDE OF COURSE HE'D HAVE ALIEN-ABDUCTED-SISTER ISSUES.

I have no idea who Cancer Man would beeeeeeee, I'd hate to make him a band person. :( But I do think maybe Skinner would be Bob.

I AM SO TEMPTED TO MAKE THIS MY BIG BANG FIC, but I want my dragon kniiiiiights.

[identity profile] saramir.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
EXACTLY BECAUSE HOW COULD HE BE MULDER!PETE WITHOUT THEM.

Hmm. I cannot think of who'd be CM either. 'cause, yeah, villainizing a band dude wouldn't be cool. BUT OMG BOB AS SKINNER! *flails* A.D. BRYAR! OMG I LOVE THIS ALREADY.

You are going to write it no matter what! Maybe make it, like, the thing you play with once big bang is over? Summer fic!

[identity profile] rufus.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Family Force 5! They are a) precious and b) redefine the term "dirty bass line", especially in "Wake the Dead." Also I saw them twice in 2008 (once at warped) and they owned the stage both times -- blew the roof off, melted our faces, etc, all while wearing the most ridiculous stage costumes I have *ever seen*. It was as if MCR and the Cobras got together and silver lame' and black leather marching band outfits were the result. and they have a teeny-tiny guitarist who is in charge of making the stupid faces.

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, I saw them at Warped, I think, and really enjoyed them! CRAZY live show, but fun!

[identity profile] rufus.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
they are even better when they get to play indoors! I saw them at a teeny-tiny club in NYC earlier this winter and it was amaaaazing. Like being hit a solid wall of sizzling hot awesome. They are going out again in the spring, on the AP tour, co-headlining with 3OH!3 and The Maine. I have to miss them when they come to my town, mainly b/c of class, which is sad. but I'm sure they'll be back.

[identity profile] annon-of-rhi.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I need some help. How do I transfer stuff from my old iPod to my new one? Do I just plug it into my itunes, and it does it itself? Will I lose the music in my itunes from my old iPod? I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THESE TYPES OF THINNNNNGS.

I really want DOA!era Fall Out Boy to be able to see America's Suitehearts!era Fall Out Boy. Specifically, the difference between the music videos. Hooooh boy.

I support this vow! The Pete/Patrick chapter of your high school verse is my faaavourite.

*butts in* Hi! It really depends on where you stored your data. For me, everything was dragged and dropped directly into my iPod and I didn't have anything in my iTunes (which means if I opened the iTunes w/o plugging in my iPod, I can't play any songs. The songs are stored in the folders.)

If you have items in your iTunes, then you can just plug your new iPod in and it would automatically sync with it. Doing this won't wipe out the music in your old iPod.

I hope this helps! :)

[identity profile] annon-of-rhi.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
It does! Well, I'll have to try it and see, but at least I have somewhere to start now. Thank you!

*g* No problem! If you need more help, ask away!

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I also recommend downloading a copy of SharePod--it lets you basically copying everything from your iPod onto your hard drive super fast and easy, and then upload it back onto your new iPod. However, I think my Touch is too new for the software I got, so I ended up copying everything from my Nano and then just dragging it all into my iTunes. But still, it made this conversion to my new iPod way less painful than my last conversion.

Jason Mraz: We Sing, we Dance, We Steal Things and Eric Hutchinson: Sounds Like This

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I am a huge Jason fan, so I already have the first one! But I've heard some of Eric Hutchinson and I really like it. :)

[identity profile] surfergirl17.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
He's got a similar vibe, and is a pretty clever lyricist. Hooray for new iPOds.

I loooooooooove Much Ado About Nothing. Branagh and Thompson are the perfect Beatrice and Benedick. As for Keanu Reeves (lolololol) um I just focus on the leather trousers and ignore the 'acting'. Because I am shallow and he is pretty.

Music: Noah & The Whale, Jakob Dylan, Jim White, Kings of Leon. :)

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, I keep seeing you talking about this Noah & the Whale--do you have an upload of that and KofL? (Oh man, [livejournal.com profile] gobsmackit is going to kill me for asking for KofL--she's been trying to get me to listen to them forever. *g*)

[identity profile] ficangel.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Eeeee, that movie is fantastic! Much Ado About Nothing is my very favorite Shakespeare play, and the Branagh/Thompson version is the best of the best. They have such warmth and wit between them. (Thompson rocks the living shit out of the "I would eat his heart in the marketplace" moment, and I Branagh makes "...and I will hie with thee to thine uncle's" hysterically funny in a way that I didn't realize it had the potential to be in the text alone.)

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 03:03 am (UTC)(link)

THAT SCENE MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME.

One of my friends has a Touch, it was actually cheaper than the one I got, I just got the classic with 120 GB of space, as much as I'd love to have the internet, I'm not a fan of how it looks, now if they polish it up and make it a little less cumbersome, I'll get one.

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2009-01-08 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
After taking it to the gym a few times, I definitely see what you mean by it being a little bulky. But other than that, I'm really enjoying mine!

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING!!!! <3_<3 KENNETH BRANAGH AND EMMA THOMPSON ARE MY IRRATIONAL ENGLISH PEOPLE CRUSHES, ALSO SCHOLARLY CRUSHES, ALSO WHYYYYYY DID THEY NOT HAVE A BABY TOGETHER, BECAUSE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SHAKESPERIAN/AUSTENIAN/ACTING SUPER BABY.
