Okay, no! You don't have to be embarrassed! It's YOUR journal, and you should be able to express your honest opinion, REGARDLESS of whether people agree with it or not!

I don't really think people got offended (and if they did, well, it's their problem), they just didn't agree with your points and wanted to debate about it, expressing their opinions so that you could see where they come from and why they think that way.

It's just that some people take this stuff way way out of proportion. *hugs*

You have a right to your opinions and thoughts, hon. Screw 'em if they don't realize that not everyone has the same opinion, but that's the reality of life! It's what makes people interesting and fun to get to know. I read it and had no issue with it what-so-ever. You weren't like, "you're wrong and I'm right and here's why!" it was like, "hey, I have a differing opinion and here's why I have it."

Well, I haven't gone back to re-read your post after dropping my comment, but I'm not seeing why you should be embarrassed. People will always find something to get offended about, and discussions of characterization in RP fandoms - or any fandom, really - will cause *someone* to get their rage on.

I still had the post open in a tab (one of 140, omg) so I just read it. I don't see how it was offensive at all. You gave your opinion in a well-spoken manner. And I agree with it, too. *hugs*

Dude. If you're talking about who I think you're talking about, she has absolutely no room to talk. You are as entitled to your opinions as everyone else; it's just that some people on LJ don't always agree with it. And I should know, because...that's why I never talk anymore. Heh.

Ohhhh, rage. I'm sorry you feel embarrassed, and I reallyreally wish I'd seen your Jon post! I love seeing people's thoughts on his characterization (and also, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND some of the commentary in the aforementioned post, because it's not like Jon is NOT A HAPPY PERSON QUITE A LOT OF THE TIME, wtf??), and I bet yours would have been totally awesome. I think he's one of the hardest people to properly characterize in this fandom, he's actually really intriguing to me. I always wish there was more Jon-centric gen in this fandom.

Anyway, yeah. I love you, and I think you're super awesome, and I am really hating all the negative bs towards people I enjoy lately. It's making fandom a really nasty place.

At first didn't understand what you were sad about, then I read the comments and I saw...
Because of the post? I thought about it that was pretty remarkable to stand up so hard for an opinion like you did. And I commented, I'd totally vote for you if you run for president.
And if someone got offended by that.. I think it's kind of silly. It was your way to see the things and it's your journal after all, you should say whatever you want.

I read your post, I didn't comment on it then because my vocabulary was on vacation but I didn't see anything wrong with it.

Quite the opposite actually.

It's your opinion, in your journal and I fail to see how your thoughts on something you obviously feel strongly about can be bad/wrong/embarrassing (omg brain where are you? i apologise for my horrifying spelling).

You should never feel embarrassed or bad about putting your thoughts out there, (which by the way are always intelligent and well put together. Your kind of amazing you know that?) Plus I kinda wish you didn't delete it because I was hoping to bookmark it for future reference.
