As little Miss Hey Cris pointed out, this did indeed all start with me spamming my friends with Jon Walker's stupid face this morning. I really have no other explanation. We also talked about Zack's scrapbooking project and his Michael's expense account.

lol it wasn't until I submitted the poll that I realized that my girlfriend has totally knitted me socks, and maybe I'm a little loopy but for some reason I found that amusing. idk. proof that Jon MUST knit Spencer socks, I guess!

It's just that the color schemes are slightly off! But it's okay, because Jon decides what colors his socks are going to be with how fuzzy he thinks the yarn is at the time he starts knitting; if the green and the orange yawn is softest, then that's what he uses!

LMAO, there is NO WAY that Jon manages to complete an entire pair of socks for Spence. He knits one up and then gets suuuuuper stoned, and forgets about the other sock. Spence has a whole drawer full of socks that have no mates. Spencer wears them anyways, matching or not. Or if he does manage to make the whole pair, one of them fits and the other one is waaaay too big. XD


p.s. i only say these things because i have at least 5 pairs of socks that probably will never get finished. they are sad, lonely socks that will never match.

Jon tries to do it all sneaky but he kind of fails at it..And their all different colors and ones longer than the other.. When he gives them to Spencer and Spencer opens the box, takes them out. Everyone stops, Brendon ceases gnawing on his candy cane and Ryan stops ripping into his box of goodies.

"Those are.." Brendon says trailing off. Spencer cuts him a sharp look.

"They are the most awesome socks ever...Is what I think Brendon was going to say."

Other: I would be inclined to buy all of them, because knitting can be hard and needs validation and scarves get boring after a while, ok? I don't know what I would do with all of the options, but I cannot pretend I wouldn't buy them.

I...may or may not imagine how a knitshop AU would go while I put in my hours at a yarn shop. Obviously Jon would make horrible sweaters. Brendon would be all about the eyelash yarn and the sparkly yarn and whatnot. I imagine Spencer making lots of socks and being all into the "sockitecture" and like, moebiuses and stuff. He always knits a gauge swatch, okay, but Brendon never does, but it doesn't matter, because gauge doesn't matter on scarves, really, Spencer! Ryan knits complex cables and these intricate lace shawls and he's all about the ManLace, really, guys, holes can manly too...

So sticking labels on yarn gives me lots of time to think about these things, apparently.

Ryan would totally be into the high end fibers and drag everyone to yarn shops to find the perfect fiber combinations- he once tried to make his own (they look so easy to do on instructables!) but alas, failed miserably (and really, who was to know that was one of Jon's precious first attempts at a hat? It looked like a big ball of aquamarine yarn that would be PERFECT to mix with this pink and Spencer attaching so much sentimental value to it was ridiculous anyway, its not like Jon hadn't made him an entire army of knitwear, and Ryan would have given him his first attempt at making a fiber so it would be like two first tries in one!)(Oddly, Spencer seemed to buy none of those arguments, especially when the attempt blew up in Ryan's face), and ended up having Spencer ban him from all further attempts. So alas, he has to stick with the yarns that come with a creepy picture of the girl on Wheel of Fortune (Vanna's choice? Really?) but now Brendon is more willing to share his yarn basket (even if it only contains sparkly or strange-mutlicolor concoctions of yarn that Ryan only uses just to see the way Brendon's eyes light up) so there is always that.
