Baby's first concert post!
BEST. THING. EVER. ♥♥
Let me start by saying that I woke up Sunday morning to the sound of fucking sleet and hail hitting my window. The weather was, quite frankly, NOT supposed to suck, and yet somehow the universe thought fit to torture me on the one day I was planning on standing out in the elements. After obsessively watching the weather for about two hours straight, I finally drove down to the venue to meet up with

Things spotted in line: two Clan hoodies, a copy of Jane Mansfield (LOL HOMEWORK AT COBRA), at least a couple of mothers trying to buy tickets off people, and some random chick wandering around with a legal pad asking for people to help name her car. I'm also pretty sure the kids in front of me were elves. Or I'm just really fucking old. Probably both.
ANYWAY, we finally make it in the doors and get a spot near the stage, etc. There was no barrier, so we let the teenies duke it out for the front of the stage. We hang out, not really paying attention to the guys setting up, until I hear

These boys, I cannot even, seriously. In the end it was only Singer and Ian on stage, and they only sang three songs (the first one I didn't know, and then Singer did a cover of "I'll Be", followed by "I'll Run", WHICH FILLED ME WITH SO MUCH GLEE), but everyone was just thrilled that they were there and performing.
Singer sounded amazing. Just...yeah, I'm still very sad they couldn't play a whole set, and when I think hard enough about why they couldn't, I get a little choked up. Ugh.
SO PRECIOUS. They both thanked everyone profusely for the comments and well wishes, and then said their merch was finally out and everyone could preorder their album. Unfortunately, by that point I'd spent all my cash on my shiny new Cobra hoodie and beer. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW SAD I AM THAT I COULD NOT GIVE MY MONEY TO THESE PRECIOUS BOYS.
After Ian and Singer left the stage,

I really can't explain how much this made my entire night, seeing his face light up. They really are so, so sweet and I think a little overwhelmed that their fans care so much. He is tiny and adorable as hell, and the thought of him being boyfriends with Brendon is just about the most adorable thing on the planet.
Later, I also managed to tell Ian the same thing (YAY MERCH STAND), and got the same reaction. CAB BOYS, YOU ARE MADE OF SUNSHINE AND PUPPIES, and I am thoroughly enamored with you. ♥
We the Kings were okay, except they felt the need to banter, which...no. I was annoyed after that, although their music was decent, if generic. And this time they did manage to say their full hometown name, LOL.
This was mostly taken for
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
Then we had Metro Station. All night
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
Their keyboardist, who is adorable and really needs to invest in a keytar, is basically a wee Mikey Way.
Seriously.
NO, REALLY.
Emoting!punk era Ryan Ross LOLZ.
I didn't start to freak out over Cobra coming on until someone pointed out that Gabe was watching the last half of Metro Station's set from the stairs at the side of the stage that go down into the dressing room areas--which was literally about ten feet from us. And then there was RYLAND as well, and it all kind of sunk in that, oh hai, I was finally going to have Cobra live and in my face.
I promptly shoved my ass into the pit and got within three people of the stage. Unfortunately, THERE WERE LOTS OF DUDES AT THIS SHOW, WTF. DUDES TALLER THAN ME, so lots of my pictures came out with some guy's head in the shot. THANKS RANDOM DUDE. WAY TO STAY HOME AND WATCH THE SUPER BOWL.
First, gratuitous Ryland shot, since I was right there and was about to murder everyone around me because I could not get a good picture of him to save my LIFE.
And another one.
And, okay, one more. HI, RYLAND, HI. YOU ARE MY FAVORITE. <33333
No drunken Gabe shenanigans at my show, alas. However, he apologized for stepping all over these dumbass girls' hands who kept grabbing at him, which was very sweet. Honestly, he is so fucking patient with all the teenie fangirls, it makes me love him so much. And then he gropes himself when he sings "I can be a nasty guy", and I pretty much just want to do him up against a wall.
Nnnnnnnnnnguh.
I DON'T EVEN CARE IF THE PURPLE HOODIE IS OLD, I LOVE IT IN STUPID AMOUNTS, OKAY? *looks at
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
He seriously paused in the middle of the show to sign shit/look at fangirl necklaces made for him/take cellphone calls. GABE, HOW SO RIDICULOUS AND AMAZING?
*heartsheartshearts*
UUUUUUUGH, I CAN'T EVEN. So many mothers with their daughters were there, too, and Gabe still sang "gonna make you wet". *dies*
I couldn't get very close to VickyT or Alex, but they were very hot. I love that Gabe made Vicky laugh a lot. :D
Oh yes, and Alex? WAS KIND OF ALSO RIDONKULOUSLY HOT. I MAY HAVE MADE INAPPROPRIATE NOISES AT SOME POINT.
So yeah, copious amounts of amazing awesomeness. However, they played a shorter set for some reason, so I am still bereft of hearing "Church of Hot Addiction" live, dammit. BUT, I think they made up for it with Gabe breaking spontaneously into the first verse of "Hollaback Boy".
AND, OMG, I could stay in the pit for "Guilty Pleasure" FOREVER. SO MUCH FUN AHHHHHH. GABE CAME TO MAKE ME DANCE AND I DID AND IT WAS GLORIOUS. \o/ \o/ \o/
Finally, there was the hanging around to
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
Me: Sorry, this song is really inappropriate for this.
Alex: ...um, yeah.
LOL, HE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO RESPOND TO ME. /o\ Moral is, Aleesha should not speak out loud to band boys EVER AGAIN.
Please disregard my post-pit hair of doom omg.
After Alex it was back to braving the masses for Gabe. Sarah and I were in line FOREVER. It was seriously like the worst four-way stop in history; these girls insist on telling their fucking life story to Gabe, and I'm mentally facepalming and thinking, "NO, DO NOT TELL GABE WHAT YOU HAD FOR BREAKFAST THIS MORNING. SOME OF US ARE COVERED IN SWEAT AND NEED SLEEP." At one point
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
Gabe [puts his hand out me]: Hi, I'm Gabe.
Me: a;skdsfkdsgkd HI. *fumbles with camera*
I told him I didn't have anything for him to sign, I just wanted a picture with him doing a stupid face.
:D :D
Bad news is that I missed Ryland. He was gone by the time I finally got my dorktastic picture with Gabe and managed to shove my way out from the horde of fangirls. We saw him just outside the club as Sarah and I were leaving, but I did not have the balls to chase him down and/or stalk the bus. *SIGH* Not to mention
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
There's tons more I could go on about, like how wonderful it was that all the bands took the time to give props to The Cab for performing that night, and also urge us to buy their merch and support them. But it's late and I'm rambling. I do want to add, though, that I met some awesome fangirls who made the whole night even better, and I can't WAIT to see Panic with them in May.
End verdict: Cobra > Super Bowl. THE END. \o/

I am so glad you had such a good time, and thank you kindly for sharing Gabe's stupid face with the world, for it fills me with GLEE. As do you, Ms. Sassypants!
