Meloni > Canadian Dude

[livejournal.com profile] shleemeri, that Canadian dude is joining SVU.

If this a replacement and not an addition, I'm boycotting NBC.

I don't like him already.*g* I'm not being rational, I know.

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
He wasn't even that great on this week's ep. His voice is too soft, and I don't buy him as a homicide detective AT ALL.

Please to be telling me why we can keep him and not Connie Nielsen.

[identity profile] bana76.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
At least we can be sure he won't be mackin' on Meloni any time soon. But still.. *sigh*

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR TEH GAY ON THIS SHOW. Just now with Canadian Dude.

[identity profile] bana76.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Gross, gross.
Obvs Cassidy/Stabler = otp!

[identity profile] rileyc.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
OK, until we have other news, I am going to choose to believe Belzer is hanging it up, and this guy would be Fin's new partner.

Even that doesn't make me happy, though. :(

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Gah, not Teh Belzer! :( Ugh.

*sulks*

Umm...what if, after several years and realizing he misses SVU, Cassidy decides to come back and steal Olivia away?

[identity profile] halfdutch.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Bring back Dean! :) Maybe, somewhere, and he and Dani are having a drink and debating whether they should go back.

[identity profile] halfdutch.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
New characters suck! Sure, it makes more sense to have new people come into a NYC precinct than elsewhere (*cough*deserted island*cough*) but as a viewer ... not of the good. Look how well that went on WAT.

Btw: have you seen this? Suggestions for Lost producers (http://entertainment1.sympatico.msn.ca/TV_Guide/Watercooler/DailyOpinion/Articles/170111_Lost_greg). The last one is a honey!

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL OMG. Even the TV Guide dude ships them!! *loves*

I guess I completely missed the news about Damon and Carlton announcing an end. Thank god. It's kind of sad, but not, I guess.

[identity profile] viggofest.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
They didn't announce an end, per se. Just the producers were talking with ABC about how they might end the show, whenever. Which I've taken to mean two things: a) if ABC ever thinks about canceling it they would agree to give the producers enough notice to wrap it up coherently, or b) the producers were outlining a specific arc with a specific endgame, to occur in a specific season (presumably May sweeps.)
Harold P. went off to make that zombie movie, so let's hope Michael and Walt make it back for the second half of this season. I'm hopeful!
That said, if we're making lists of Monster chow, can we put Charlie on the list behind Claire? (or in front?) I do agree that Eko was the most interesting of the Tailies, and I don't give a damn about the second island crew.
Unless Said comes up with a way to blow a very deep channel between the two islands....

[identity profile] halfdutch.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
They've always said the show would go 5 years so it's good they're keeping to that and not dragging it out, a la X-Files. But the way it's been going lately ... did you see the poll with that article? 46% said they thought it should end in two years. 20% or something said it should end even sooner. So the people that were upset to think of it going away are definitely in the minority.

Halfdutch, what happened on Without a Trace ?
I'm still seeing S. 3.

[identity profile] halfdutch.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
They added a new chick and fandom HATED her. Kind of like Ana Lucia on Lost. Started petitions to get her booted, etc. I didn't ever watch that much myself, but the biggest WAT fan on my flist, one who wrote a lot of Danny/Martin gave up on the show altogether after the new character was added.

[identity profile] luci-2.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Hope it's still a long way ahead from S. 3.

[identity profile] halfdutch.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
They added her same time as Ana Lucia: fall 2005, so whatever season that was.
ext_66588: (Melonilicious!)

[identity profile] rhymephile.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Gah, he was mumble-mouthing his way throughout that whole episode on Tuesday, which, I'm going to assume continued until the end because I didn't actually stick around to see what happened.

They do realize the only reason we watch the show is for Meloniliciousness, right? Right?

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
PRETTY MUCH. Although I do enjoy the occassional Munch-centric eps.
ext_66588: (Munch in the corner)

[identity profile] rhymephile.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Speaking of...go see my latest blog entry.

[identity profile] luci-2.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I second all your words. Meloni is the reason I watch SVU, but Munch always adds a touch of class.
I lurk at the SVU TWoP board and yesterday almost everyone said they disliked the new
guy. Off to see what they say today.

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just bitter now that they couldn't keep Connie Nielsen. The new guy just doesn't have much charisma. It'll be really ironic if he really is replacing Belzer.

[identity profile] viggofest.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, for the life of me I couldn't figure out the LJer who posted that she watched this week's episode because she was a "Third Watch" fan. Do you think he/she thought it was supposed to be Michael Beach?

It's funny, but when I watched the ep this week I thought "this feels like a dry run for something." But of course I assumed it was some sort of Fin-centric show, since I couldn't imagine replacing anyone in the Main Cast.

I don't think NBC is stupid enough to replace the lead lead with a former guest star, and still expect to hold Top Ten placement.

What is WAT?

And kudos to Sawyer-Jack cuddling. Wouldn't that be a trip on prime-time?

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Adam Beach was on Third Watch according to IMDB. But they're really toting his Flags of Our Fathers role, aren't they?

I simply cannot fathom this show if it's going to be like this week's ep. I'll never watch again if that's the case--what's the point? Even the Mariska fangirls will bail.

WaT = Without a Trace

Jack/Sawyer cuddling is SO what that show needs. They came damn close last season...sort of.

[identity profile] gobsmackit.livejournal.com 2007-01-20 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, I knew it was an introductory episode.

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
'Tis quite distressing, seeing as how NBC has announced another season for SVU, but no word on the contract disputes.
