New characters suck! Sure, it makes more sense to have new people come into a NYC precinct than elsewhere (*cough*deserted island*cough*) but as a viewer ... not of the good. Look how well that went on WAT.
Btw: have you seen this? Suggestions for Lost producers (http://entertainment1.sympatico.msn.ca/TV_Guide/Watercooler/DailyOpinion/Articles/170111_Lost_greg). The last one is a honey!
They didn't announce an end, per se. Just the producers were talking with ABC about how they might end the show, whenever. Which I've taken to mean two things: a) if ABC ever thinks about canceling it they would agree to give the producers enough notice to wrap it up coherently, or b) the producers were outlining a specific arc with a specific endgame, to occur in a specific season (presumably May sweeps.) Harold P. went off to make that zombie movie, so let's hope Michael and Walt make it back for the second half of this season. I'm hopeful! That said, if we're making lists of Monster chow, can we put Charlie on the list behind Claire? (or in front?) I do agree that Eko was the most interesting of the Tailies, and I don't give a damn about the second island crew. Unless Said comes up with a way to blow a very deep channel between the two islands....
They've always said the show would go 5 years so it's good they're keeping to that and not dragging it out, a la X-Files. But the way it's been going lately ... did you see the poll with that article? 46% said they thought it should end in two years. 20% or something said it should end even sooner. So the people that were upset to think of it going away are definitely in the minority.
They added a new chick and fandom HATED her. Kind of like Ana Lucia on Lost. Started petitions to get her booted, etc. I didn't ever watch that much myself, but the biggest WAT fan on my flist, one who wrote a lot of Danny/Martin gave up on the show altogether after the new character was added.
Gah, he was mumble-mouthing his way throughout that whole episode on Tuesday, which, I'm going to assume continued until the end because I didn't actually stick around to see what happened.
They do realize the only reason we watch the show is for Meloniliciousness, right? Right?
I second all your words. Meloni is the reason I watch SVU, but Munch always adds a touch of class. I lurk at the SVU TWoP board and yesterday almost everyone said they disliked the new guy. Off to see what they say today.
I'm just bitter now that they couldn't keep Connie Nielsen. The new guy just doesn't have much charisma. It'll be really ironic if he really is replacing Belzer.
You know, for the life of me I couldn't figure out the LJer who posted that she watched this week's episode because she was a "Third Watch" fan. Do you think he/she thought it was supposed to be Michael Beach?
It's funny, but when I watched the ep this week I thought "this feels like a dry run for something." But of course I assumed it was some sort of Fin-centric show, since I couldn't imagine replacing anyone in the Main Cast.
I don't think NBC is stupid enough to replace the lead lead with a former guest star, and still expect to hold Top Ten placement.
What is WAT?
And kudos to Sawyer-Jack cuddling. Wouldn't that be a trip on prime-time?
Adam Beach was on Third Watch according to IMDB. But they're really toting his Flags of Our Fathers role, aren't they?
I simply cannot fathom this show if it's going to be like this week's ep. I'll never watch again if that's the case--what's the point? Even the Mariska fangirls will bail.
WaT = Without a Trace
Jack/Sawyer cuddling is SO what that show needs. They came damn close last season...sort of.

Please to be telling me why we can keep him and not Connie Nielsen.

Even that doesn't make me happy, though. :(

Umm...what if, after several years and realizing he misses SVU, Cassidy decides to come back
and steal Olivia away?no subject

I guess I completely missed the news about Damon and Carlton announcing an end. Thank god. It's kind of sad, but not, I guess.
