OMG,

khohen1--I'm on the phone with my BFF, who's a paramedic in Boston, and when I offhandedly asked her if she was watching "Rescue Me" and SHE FREAKED! She looooves that show, and now she's reading me RM quotes at IMDB, LOL. I pretty much have to ~~buy the seasons~~ watch the whole thing now so she can call me on Tuesday nights and squee. :D

Aaaand now we just sat and watched the comedy short on AOL. HOLY SHIT.

PS: I started watching season one of Oz. More than anything else, I'm just confused! There's so many damn characters I can't keep them all straight unless I already knew the actor from something else, heh.

The main characters are, for the most part:

McManus, who runs Em City
Leo Glenn, the warden
Sister Peter Marie, nun and shrink
Ryan O'Reily, king of awesome and basically the Iago of season one
Tobias Beecher, alcoholic ex-lawyer who killed a girl with his car on a DUI, who is also love, although season one is ROUGH on him, as you've no doubt seen.
Vern Schillinger, uber-fucktard and Aryan Brotherhood leader
Kareem Said, Muslim leader and activist
Simon Adebisi, resident crazy fuck with the ridiculous hat
Miguel Alvarez, who basically cannot die, LOL

I think that's it as far as season one goes. I'm trying to rack my brain, but most of the time the minor characters are extremely hard to keep track of.

Sadly, no Keller in season one, heh.

If you want to go for it, awesome, but you certainly don't have to just for me!

Ryan O'Reily, I know. I actually remember him from the bit of Oz I saw back when it was on the air, heh. That also might be because Dean Winters = Love. Hee!

I also recognize Beecher & Adebisi - because I'm familiar with those actors too. (Just like I'll know Keller when he shows up, heh.)

And I've figured out McManus, Schillinger & Glenn.

Oh yeah, and there's Hill too. Who drives me up the goddamn wall. I thought I'd like Harold on this show for some reason, but man, I'm pretty sure the phrase 'STFU' was coined in regards to him, lmfao. I could really deal with a lot less of his blatherings. Maybe he'll grow on me. I kinda hope so, because man, he's killing me right now! LOL.

Anyway, so the way you list it, there really aren't a lot of main characters left I don't know on sight. Heh. Maybe I'm just getting all the minor background players confused with regulars as I'm not very far into it yet.

Awww, I love Augustus! But funny you should mention the STFU part, because he does get himself into trouble for not doing exactly that, LOL. He and Beecher have issues with letting sleeping dogs lie. :P

I also forgot to mention Father Mukada, but you probably already know that, seeing as how B.D. Wong isn't easy to miss.

Awesome. What (very little) I've seen so far, comparing them would be interesting. The characters are more alike than I had anticipated, actually.
