I actually had friends come up this weekend to celebrate my birthday a little early. This NEVER happens, mostly because my birthday is too close to a major holiday. Story of my life. So it was a great surprise, even if it was only for one night. We had a great dinner with lots of wine, and then came back home to watch The Neverending Story. LOL DON'T ASK. A+ good times.

I have been listening to "From Now On We Are Enemies" on repeat, and I swear to god, if I don't get my hands on the actual lyrics I will LOSE MY MIND--I'm pretty sure Patrick isn't saying "foals that will never convulse," but you never know! Damn you Patrick Stump and your inability to enunciate.

And I know you all are probably sick of hearing my work out/weight loss updates, but I did an experiment at The Gap, and can now wear a jeans size I don't think I even wore in junior high. \o/

For FNOWAE my friend and I both wrote up what we thought he was saying and then compared them to the actual lyrics and it was pretty interesting.

THE NEVERENDING STORY!!! That was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid! Atreyu! And the dog dragon thing that is so obviously a huge mechanical puppet! ♥ I totally need to track that down and watch it again...

I WATCHED THE SHIT OUT OF THAT MOVIE, FTR. The scary evil dog scared the crap out of me. And I always had to fast forward through the part where Atreyu's horse dies. ;_;

Oh my god, I can see that scene in my head so clearly! DDDDDD: SO SAD. You know how at the end when what's-his-face gives the girl a new name and recreates the world? The first time I saw the movie, when they started showing all the creatures and things that had been destroyed that were now back, my first thought was 'BUT WHAT ABOUT ATREYU'S HORSE??"

I have a nephew whose birthday is about three weeks after Christmas and he haaaaaaates it. Apparently that's close enough that he gets lame birthday presents from extended family, because they *just* got him stuff for Christmas and, you know, don't want to spoil the child!

YES, THIS. How could someone kill a horse in a children's movie? :(

My sister-in-law's birthday is December 26th. She pretty much beats everyone ever for shittiest b-day.
