This is what has been consuming my brain the past few days. Basically, the Regency AU has morphed into a crazy steampunk universe with high society balls on zepplins and Jon wearing crazy wrist watches like this. RACHEL AND I ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS.

Have not really flisted in three days. My week culminated with my immediate supervisor making me cry, and then I went home and drank a bunch of margaritas and proceeded to drunk text half my flist. IDK, you guys, it's over. I'm off Monday for dentist stuff, which I'm actually relieved about, wtf.

harriet_vane and I are messing around with, and it's totally a huge collection of our favorite romance novel cliches! It's Jon/Spencer and Ryan/Brendon, but Jon and Spencer are fake boyfriends to keep away marriage offers and Jon is a notorious rake and Brendon's a poor piano tutor who comes to live with the Smiths...totally not suspenseful or anything like that. Just a romance set in our own weirdo steampunk 'verse! Please don't feel like you can't write it, that would make me sad. :(

I looooooooove steampunk. You should google a band called Abney Park. They are a steampunk band. Check out their instruments and their whole aesthetic. I loves them. They have a comm on lj I think.

steamfashion about their gear, and he told me all he knew about their violinist and the construction of his instrument, what strings he used, etc. they're supernice people, ntm amazing musicians.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG! I dress steampunk and I can't wait for this! Steampunk is so underrepresented in a fandom that has canon victoriana, and I am so excited to hear that there is going to be a steampunk au.

Oh man, I'm starting to get nervous that we'll totally screw this up, but I guess there's not THAT many ways you can screw up steampunk?

you have NO IDEA how happy this makes me. i've been OBSESSED, srsly obsessed, with steampunk for the past year and a half, and though i'm kind of in an off phase w/ it rn, i've got endless bookmarks of tutorials to make antiqued pirate guns and victorian dress patterns and blueprints for mercury gun/gauntlet prototypes, etc
