Three years in the making.
Mr. Foxx graduates from law school on Sunday. He brought home his cap and gown today, and I very nearly broke into tears. I mean, it's like official now. Well, almost. He's still got to take the bar in June, but honestly, with the way he takes tests, that's going to be the easy part.
I sort got into an altercation *cough* over my misinterpretation of a juris doctorate; I truly believed it was another variation of a masters, not a doctorate. But, for the record, it is a doctorate degree. This argument lead to this exchange:
Mr. Foxx: I get to wear a hood [at graduation].
Me: Well, so do Sith Lords.
Mr. Foxx: And they don't have masters!!
I admit, my ass was pwned.
Oh god, so anyway, I'm kinda sorta freaking out about the weekend and my family coming into town and the fact that, um, he's fucking graduating and will officially be, like, a lawyer and stuff. It's exciting, yes, but there was a time many moons ago when I didn't think this day would happen. Not that I didn't have any faith in him, but surviving on student loans and one income makes for some pessimistic outlooks.
What I'd really love is money to take a nice vacation before we have to start job hunting and looking for a new place to live, but at this point, I'll just take the money. Period.
ETA: Okay, I'm so out of it I just missed the first half hour of SGA. *facepalm*
