Yeah, and I was just telling halfdutch that I was avoiding joining any Drive comms and getting involved with the fandom side of things until I thought the show would be on for a bit. I'd already jumped into The Black Donnellys fandom only to be disappointed and pissed off.
I can't say I'm necessarily surprised that it was cancelled but I am schocked that it came this soon. Four episodes? Really, FOX? That's gotta be a new low for you. Wanktards.
You know, I didn't think it'd be forever and forever or anything, but seriously, The Black Donnellys had more episodes shown, and that wasn't a show long for this world from the get-go. Bastards.
Well, I guess on the plus side there won't be anymore canon, so we're free to write whatever the hell we want to? Maybe? IT'S HARD TO BE POSITIVE WHEN YOU'RE EMO.
It was in Variety. Tell me I didn't read this wrong:
Monday night's "Drive" didn't help matters, coming in fifth place for the hour (1.5/5) and driving "24" to record lows, dropping Fox to fourth for the night.
That makes no fucking sense. It was on for what, 3 weeks? They could've at least given it the 13 episodes they initially ordered before cancelling. I hate Fox.
Sorry to say, but I called it. Tim Minear seems to be the new kiss of death lately, and methinks he might be rethinking his development deal with 20th Century TV.
Chances are they'll air the last eps online -- and they only contracted for six, according to Variety. A DVD will most likely happen, because it will mean FOX gets some money back.
This is very upsetting. 4 episodes? Why even bother? It's like they set it up for failure or something.
Bastards. They killed Kenny... I mean, Drive.
I'm not sure what's worse - a perfectly good show like Drive being canceled, or the fact that it was canceled simply because ALL television shows are down in viewership this month: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070425/tv_nm/ratings_week_dc;_ylt=ApZaXdoNfycUX9e8RSG1k965GL8C Besides, it's all inaccurate anyway: http://cornellsun.com/node/23180
I'll miss the weekly Nathan fix. Damn, I was just starting in on the fanfictions... sigh.
That second article was very interesting, and very true. I don't know why they haven't tried to update the way TV shows are judged on the basis of viewers. But, on the other hand, it's all about bringing in the dollar, not entertainment (unless it's cable), so what do they care? *sigh*

Not cool, FOX. More goddamn House reruns instead? NOOOO.
And bleah, did you read the article that 24 is down *because* of Drive? Not because it's got some tacked-on, 11th-hour plotline?
WORST TV SEASON EVER.

Yeah. I suspect Josh is going to join that club once Lost is over.
