I'm running a low-grade fever and feel all weirdish, like I'm sick but not. I plan to finish answering comments and then snuggle down with more His Dark Materials goodness, as I am slightly addicted.

I've actually been pondering last night's Lost! *gasp* So, quick question:


Back at the end of S2, or more specifically "3 Minutes", Walt gets threatened with more time in "The Room". Is this also The Box? Is The Box even real? And if so, is it really meant to be more of an interrogation tool? Discuss. :)

LMAO, and here I was, driving to the gym, and I'd convinced myself that since Lyra is blonde and Lord Asriel is blonde (altho this might be me envisioning Daniel Craig as canon!Asriel), then obvs Mrs. Coulture is canonically blonde. YOU'VE RUINED MY LOGIC. :P

And yeah, I've been pondering Lost a lot as well. Only I got much wordier. And, surprise, it was about Sawyer, heh. Last night, I thought that Ben was talking about the box being just the room that Cooper was being held in but it could easily be The Room. Or just a metaphor for the island serving up its latest surprise-slash-damning look into your own soul!

So ... more thoughts on The Box. I've been thinking it could be an actual physical room, but that its magical properties are the island's, meaning that explains why there are weird manifestations and hallucinations seemingly from each survivor's own psyche. So it's not contained to just one room, in other words, if it's what's behind the appearances of Christian and Kate's horse, and the abilities of Smoky, etc.

I'm thinking the room is the Clockwork Orange room and the Box is where they get all their info from, all I know is it better not be any sort of virtual reality room.

You will LOVE the books, they're awesome. I literally cannot seem to put them down. :)

And yeah, I'm think Clockwork Orange and The Manchurian Candiate since we saw Karl stuck in that other room...although that was another room, not THE room, per say, so who knows?
