Happy Jan. 1st!

Am I a huge pathetic loser if I spend a good portion of my New Year's Day refreshing my flist for oz_magi updates? No? Good. >.>

I had meant to tell everyone about my trials and tribulations in buying a Nintendo Wii, but I got sidetracked. Long story short, we'd planned to buy a Wii and spend New Year's Eve getting drunk and playing tennis, but it's just like trying to buy a Playstation 3--i.e. you can't. At all. The only place I've found that will guarantee you'll find a Wii is eBay, and at that point you're playing an extra hundred bucks. Ugh. Stupid video game Nazis.

I'm slightly frightened of this new year, because...well, it's gonna be a tough one.


Husband graduates from law school in May, then takes the bar exam immediately after that. Hopefully he'll have a job by that point, but nothing's set in stone. Once he does find a job, I'll be quitting my job and looking for a new one. We'll be house shopping (hopefully) for the first time, and moving back to Kansas City (hopefully). I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding in September, which means I have a little over nine months to tone up and not look like total shit in a slinky dress.

The best thing I have to look forward to is my trip to Boston to see my BFF the first week of February. I just realized today that I'm flying out on the seventh, which is Lost premiere night. LOL, guess we're staying in on Wednesday! Thank god she watches Lost, too. ;)

Yeah, it won't be as intense as 2004 was, but it'll be up there.

And no, I didn't post to this journal--it's a secret! It's getting posted to oz_magi anonymously sometime today. Once the authors are revealed, I'll repost here. :)

Happy New Year! And good luck getting the Wii. We found ours at Toys R Us a while back (A miracle to end all freaking miracles). It's loads of fun and even better when there are margaritas involved. But aren't all things like that? ;-)

I tried Toys R Us (since that's where we bought our Playstation 2 back in the day), and no luck. I literally called/went to every electronics place in town and no one has anything. *le sigh* Oh well, that's $250 we didn't have to spend, heh.

Hey, look at the year ahead as a lot of fun challenges! (Though not quite of the LJ/fic kind ;-)

I've heard they've recalled some of the Wii, something about people throwing the handheld portion? Or the cables not long enough? Or something like that? I only just held a Gameboy for the first time the other day, so what do I know?

You're too kind! But all my other stuff is MarySue, so it isn't worth sharing.
There was just something about the way your wish was worded that made me think I could take myself out of it and just run those two characters for a very specific plot along a very contained timeframe. More than a one-word prompt but just a specific reference. It sort of came together in my head all at once. It was a fun exercise! I'll have to try it again.

The week after the Playstation and the Wii came out there were signs all over my school put there by people selling them for two or three hundred dollars more than they bought them for. :/ It seems like you either had to really want it, or wait.
