Am quite tired, but...
While I was about to TEAR MY EYES OUT at the very beginning over the WTFness over a damn ping pong game meant for no other reason than to a) give us mopey!Sawyer and b) FINALLY give us a reprieve from Sawyer's plague o' nicknames, the flashback was actually quite good and very moving. Sayid eps are usually fairly consistent, even when they rely on the heavy-handed plot device of the war in Iraq. Give Naveen props for tearing that scene up.
I'm confused and stuff, but I'm sure that's the point as usual.
It's good to know, though, that when the going gets rough Locke can always be counted on...to play computer games. O_o
