The Olympics has eaten my life, BUT now that swimming is over I think I can actually be a productive human being. I don't know why I get so into swimming every Olympics; overall, I feel the Winter Games are my favorite, mostly because of skiing, which I've NEVER DONE IN MY LIFE, but I love watching it as a competitive sport. /o\ Once again, I got sucked into the dramatic narrative arc that is Michael Phelps and literally spent a good ten minutes yesterday morning sobbing on my couch as I read Phelps' telling of his final race. All hype aside, history was made last week, and also Phelps became a grown-up. (Ryan Lochte is a potato on par with Scott McCall, but that's another post entirely.)
I'm not into track and field because I only care about distance running, but since I read Runner's World I can't help getting invested in some of these athletes. And the 10,000m race? WAS AMAAAAAAAZING.

If you're not aware, Mo Farah and Galen Rupp train together in Oregon. They are TEAMMATES AND BEFFIES AND THEY WON OLYMPIC MEDALS TOGETHER. ;_____; Farah is the first British man to ever win gold in this event, and Rupp is only the third man in 100 years to win a medal in the 10k for the US. The East Africans have ruled this event for decades, and for these two to come in and take the gold and silver was such a thrill to watch. RW pretty much called the race, only they had Rupp in third place after Tariku Bekele of Ethiopia, who ended up with the bronze medal instead.
I missed watching the women's marathon, ugh. A new Olympic record was set, though, of 2:23:07. Goddamn, that's fast. I think Boston this year was around 2:30??
Anywhoozle, in non-Olympics things, yes, I AM writing, slowly but surely, on Bylines. Avengers!Teen Wolf has stalled because I'm horribly paranoid it sounds too OoC. I'm...considering dropping out of
marvel_bang, but we'll see. Right now I kind of feel like all my attention should be on Bylines...and, uh, the RBB I should also be writing, uh.
